Nokia Booklet 3G

To support the launch of the Nokia Booklet 3G, Nokia’s first netbook, our client needed a promotional video for internal use. After the success of the first video, two more were produced.

What did we do?

The first video was intended for internal and partner use only so delivery needed to be quick and cost effective. To achieve this, we used video time lapse effects to create rich visuals and accompanied them with aspirational music. The focus of the video was the unprecedented mobility of the Nokia Booklet 3G. The video was also featured on a pre-launch mini-site created by Luxus that presented the key selling points of the product and pulled in blog reactions.

The second and third videos were aimed directly at consumers. We built on the existing visual concept and used a slice of life approach to deliver the main message and help the audience feel closer to the product. The result was a visual showcase of the hardware and software, highlighting the product’s design, capabilities and aesthetics.

Luxus Finland and Luxus Singapore worked together on the project, creating the concepts for all three videos, rendering the 3D images, composing the music, writing the scripts, and directing, casting, filming, editing and producing them.

The results

The first video garnered a great response: after the product launch it was uploaded to YouTube and within the first 24 hours, it appeared on the most watched video list, with a staggering 384,550 views. Viewers praised it highly, commenting specifically on the visuals and music. The quality of the first video led to requests for the following two. They were featured on the online product launch page, the product site, and subsequently deployed on retail store screens.
